Tomato season is officially upon us here in SB. We are once again up to our elbows (quite literally) in tomatoes from a few of our favorite farmers, Jacob Grant from Roots Farms and Jack Motter from Ellwood Canyon Farms.
This is out fifth year packing for Roots farms and our second season working with Ellwood Canyon Farms. Look for these and other treats at your local farmer's markets here in the Santa Barbara and Los Angeles areas.
We recently had the privilege of being featured in Loa Living magazine. Loa Living is the newest member of the Loa Tree family. David Fortson and Eric Cardenas have created Loa Living in order to showcase people and organizations striving to make our world a better place, the "Changemakers" so to speak. Hilltop and Canyon Farms gave us another treat at the market last week. Peach tomatoes! These little gems provide a bright, meaty burst of flavor. They are great, paired with some sliced summer melons, a little flaked sea salt, your favorite olive oil and a few sprigs of basil. These amazing tomatoes are the perfect way to start a summer meal, get them while you can!
